Inflammatory Bowel Disease or IBD includes a set of disorders in which the intestines get inflamed (red, swollen and have ulcers). There are many reasons behind this, such as genetic, environmental, infections etc., but the common factor is an abnormal immune reaction to normal intestinal bacteria.

In the year 2010, an estimated 14 lakh people were suffering from the inflammatory Bowel Disease or IBD in India and this number is increasing significantly. Facts prove that it is an emerging disease in our country. Primarily IBD includes two types of diseases — Ulcerative Colitis is restricted to the large intestine, Crohn’s disease can affect any part of the gastrointestinal tract and most commonly the small intestine.

“Innovate IBD” is a unique service offered by Dr Kiran Peddi & his team, which is based on a proprietary model called KP-3P model. This is a systematic approach to fill the gap in IBD diagnosis and treatment. There is no single ideal treatment for IBD, but it has to be modified for each individual, based on age, type location of the disease and any associated complications.

The primary objective of our unique model is to “KNOW THE PATIENT” first and the to “PREDICT” who is at higher risk, “PROTECT” them from various infections and “PREVENT” any complications of the disease and medications. There are a lot of developments in treatment and range from simple medication to advanced medications. Surgery can be curative for the Ulcerative Colitis, but is only performed for complications in Crohn’s Disease.
